Infra-red point-to-point solutions

When your environment makes the use of structured network cabling difficult or impossible, there are other solutions available, such as infra-red point-to-point networking.

Your network site might not be a suitable to install a structured cabling network solution. It might be impossible or prohibitively expensive to dig a channel for laying cables from one building to another. The distance between buildings might be too far for using catenary support. In situations like these, wire-free solutions must be explored.

One wire-free solution from q2 is infra-red point-to-point networking.

As the diagram shows, if there is an obstruction that works against structured cabling, point-to-point networking solves the problem by using one or more relay stations.

We understand the strengths and weaknesses of the point-to-point technology. Why not call us out to your site for a free discussion about your needs?

Our consultants will work with you to determine the appropriateness of a point-to-point solution for your site. Our network designers will select the correct devices and our installers will work to the impeccable standards you expect from q2.
